Julio E. Barros, CSW, PhD, is the CEO and Founder of CHDFS, Inc. Dr. Barros' dedication towards advocating for the needs of people with special needs and those under the poverty line is backed by his work done in the field, which includes his roles as: Senior Director for Adoption , Project Director for OPWDD Programs, Foster Care Social Worker, Therapist, Case Manager, Teacher, and assisting Adoptive Parents of Special Needs Children. Dr. Barros holds a Doctorate in Psychology from Bedford Universiy, and a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work from Adelphi University . He received a Bachelor of Arts in Psycology at CUNY, and a Bachelor of Arts in Education at the University of Chile. He currently lives in New York with his two adopted son's.
Juan C. Villamizar
CFO & Co-Founder
Juan Carlos Villamizar is the CFO and Co-Founder of CHDFS, Inc. Through his career, Juan Carlos has dedicated his work towards advocating for the needs of children in various capacities. He has served government roles as a Developmental Sociologist, Sociology Consultant, and also has field experience in Family Support and Teaching capacities. Juan Carlos holds a Masters of Social Work/SEA degree from Columbia University, a degree in Psychoanalysis, and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from the University of Antioquia, Colombia.
Human Resources Director
Sobeida Valdez joined CHDFS, Inc. in 2014 bringing with her over twenty-nine years of experience in social work, case management, advocacy and other human service roles. Her experience includes serving numerous Director positions at RAIN Home Attendant Services, Tuerk House, The Dennelisse Corporation, and Bronx AIDS Services. She has also served as a consultant at Progressive Home Health Services and Public Health Educator for the Harlem Hospital Center.
Sobeida Valdez holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the City College of the City of New York, a Masters and License in Social Work from Hunter College, and a Master of Science in Human Resources Management from The New School for Social Research.
Accounting & Finance Director
Rosa Caccamo has been a part of CHDFS, Inc. since 2011 when she joined us as an Accountant. She brings seventeen years of experience in financial management and accounting, including nine spent as a Senior Auditor at Ernst and Young, and a Junior Auditor at Deloitte and Touche.
Rosa Caccamo is a Certified Public Accountant, received training in Non-Profit Financial Management & Reporting at Baruch College, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from San Marcos National University, Peru.
Fundraising & Parent Advocate Director
Since 2013, Nancy Parker has served as the Director of the Parent Advocate Program at CHDFS, Inc. Her relationship with our organization goes back nearly thirteen years where she's fulfilled numerous supporting roles including serving on the Board of Directors. In the past, Nancy has worked as a Parent Advocate at NAMI NYC Metro, where she began and ran a support group for fourteen years, targeting parents of children and adolescents; dealing with the challenges of having kids suffer from emotional and mental disorders.
Nancy is a state trainer of NAMI’s signature course, NAMI BASICS, and is a Family to Family teacher. Nancy also runs a volunteer social group for adults with mental illness called "Find Your Funny." Currently Nancy attends Hunter College, where she is working on a degree in Social Work.
Jonathan Dennehy is currently the Program Coordinator for Bridges to Health Waiver Services at CHDFS, Inc. He started with CHDFS as a direct-care provider for OMH in 2009, later becoming a Waiver Service Provider for B2H, followed by a WSP Supervisor before taking on his current position. Jonathan earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, minoring in Anthropology and Music from Bernard Baruch College (CUNY) and is currently working towards an MSW at the Silberman School of Social Work.
